Happy Friday

Hubby surprised me at work today by sending these beautiful flowers. Made me that little bit more excited that the weekend was here. Love him to bits.

Have a fabulous weekend everyone!

Friday Favourites

Friday Favourites is all about Mustard and Burgundy this week. If you throw in a bit of Navy you have my three favourite colours. With autumn already gracing us with its presence and winter starting to tease us I am all about knits and stockings. I am loving the idea of wearing a big scarf as a throw over (5). Time to put all my cute belts to good use. I am almost liking the idea of a long winter….

Enjoy!

Brussels Sprouts

With winter setting in already (hey summer, did you forget about us this year?) Daniel’s soccer season has started. Which means training on Wednesday nights. Which I have decided, this season, means Wednesday nights are my nights off. No cleaning, washing or any wife work at all! I can take a bath, secretly indulge in the Real Housewives and eat something I love but Daniel hates. I love Wednesday nights.

With this new nominated night off I have decided to set myself a little challenge. I am going to make a meal that I think I hate but haven’t really ever eaten, at least not for a long time. We will talk about this more in a separate post. Last night was the start and I thought who better to take on then Brussels Sprouts.  I was convinced that I hated these green balls of healthiness but I couldn’t quite remember a time ever trying them. So I decided to play it safe and add lots of other goodness to help me out if I needed it. I was pleasantly surprised at the gorgeous green colour they turned when cooked. And even better – they tasted DELICIOUS. I love Brussels Sprouts.

My Brussels Sprouts Stir Fry, best.

Here is the recipe for those also wanting to be converted or for those that already are.

Brussels Sprouts, halved
Olive Oil
Prosciutto or Bacon or Pancetta (I used prosciutto)
Butter
Garlic, crushed
Fresh Breadcrumbs
Potato, baby Sebago, skin on
Parmesan Cheese

Bring saucepan of water to the boil over high heat. Add sprouts and cook until tender (approx 7 minutes). Drain.
Boil potatoes until tender. Drain.
Meanwhile, heat oil in frying pan over medium heat. Add meat. Cook until crisp. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towel.
Melt butter in frying pan. Add garlic and breadcrumbs. Cook, stirring, until golden.
Return meat to pan with sprouts, potato, parmesan and toss to combine. Season with salt and pepper. And vuala! Yummy green goodness ready to eat.

The best part was having a video call dinner date with my mumma who is New Zealand for work. Love long chats about everything and nothing with her. Then before I knew it hubby was home. Successful night all round. It’s the little things.

PS. Who knew Brussels had an (s) on the end? I thought it was Brussel.

A Weekend Love In

The Love In is over. It was the best weekend. The weather totally came to the party and rained in the morning and evenings just perfectly. There was lots of movie watching, eating, walking Mr Dog along the beach, lying in bed for no reason other then it being the cosiest spot in the house and of course, fishing.

I love spending time with my hubby. If I could have him all to myself all the time, I would. Selfish, yes. I am so looking forward to being lots of O babies into our family but while its just us I am going to spend every second I can smothering this man with affection.

The Love In attendees.

My only catch of the weekend, I am too scared to hold the fish myself.

I am more then happy for grocery stores to bring the buns well before Easter.

I still wear my food.....

I am already counting down until our next weekend away, May our wedding anniversary (No.2).

The Man Flu

I have a hubby with a case of the man flu so I must be short and sweet.

We are heading up the coast to the holiday house tomorrow for a weekend long love in. I am so excited. Fishing, beach, good food and lots of lovin.

I can not wait for this week to end and the weekend to begin. I love every second of the weekend. I never take them for granted.

A photo of my love, reminding myself that he is so much more fun without the man flu.

The Start.

This is our online tale. The story of our lives that we can one day read to number four, five, six and maybe even seven!

I am Maegan. The one I refer to as husband, is Daniel and of course the puppy is Tupac. We have a little house that we love in Sydney, Australia.

I feel like our life is just getting started. I want to make sure I remember all of it and thats where you come in.

Lots of Love.
