Five(5) Months.

Yep this kid is five months old already. That was quite possibly the quickest five months I have experienced. I will say though that there were more then a few of the longest nights I have ever experienced.

I can already tell you that my boy is going to be a rock star. He loves anything to do with music and can sing his little heart out. Just like his Dada. He also has quite a soft spot for Katy Perry. He gets that from his mama.

He is all about rolling onto his tummy these days. He loves rolling around, playing with anything he can get his hands on and mostly sneaking into bed with mama once dada has left for work. Cheeky, we know. Although I am to blame for that one.

He has the best style, as you can see from this amaze hair he already has going on.

Trey can laugh and giggle until the whole room is joining in. Then he can squeal the house down.

He LOVES bath time and on especially hot days he loves to play under the hose on the grass.

He has made our lives so full and we love everyday and every moment spent with him and beautiful personality.

We love you Atreyu.

A Socially Acceptable Post

So now that we are into December and it is socially acceptable to have christmas decorations up I thought I would share a few bits from our house. The truth is I decorated and put the tree up the middle of last month. I always have been a rule breaker.

This is the ornament we got made for Trey's first christmas. I love it!
The first Santa photo that every kid has to have.
Daniel got Trey this Reindeer, I can't wait until next year when he will be running around the house with it.
I got these cushions for only $7 each. Such a bargain I just had to share.

This Christmas is already a blast, even though most days are super busy and life stops me from starring at the tree lights for too long.  I have loved planning a christmas with my very own Son in mind. I am positive they are only going to get better from here on.

Trey loves looking at the lights on the tree and he especially loves reading all his Christmas books. He gets to open a present twice a week for this month that contains a new Christmas book. Even though he is still small and doesn't get the whole present thing he LOVES reading his new books. I have a feeling my love for this holiday is going to rub off on him. At least I am really hoping.

Merry Christmas!

We're Back!

How can so many months pass so quickly? One word - BABY. As you can see our beautiful little boy joined our family. He is now 3 months old. Three months old can you believe it?!

I have made a commitment to myself to get right back into blogging. I will somehow manage my day so I have a few moments to write about anything and everything. I am really looking forward to catching up and taking time to remember the best parts of my day.

That photo right there is everything. My loves. My true loves.

Right now I have a stirring baby that wants his mumma to come and give him some attention so I am off to attend to that dream boat of a boy and will be back soon.

An End, A Beginning

I am right at the tale of end of my eighth month of pregnancy. The end of this month brought with it the end of my time at work. I finished up and for the first time in ten years I am not employed. It has definitely brought with it a huge sense of freedom. It has also brought with it nerves - mostly of the gross financial kind.  BUT what it has brought with it that over takes every other emotion is the start of a new beginning. A new career, job and place in the world. I am going to be a Mum. What a blessing. I have longed for the day I could start this role and I am so glad, so thankful it is here.

Over the last week my body has started showing me it is getting ready to bring this baby into our world. I can feel that the day we will be meeting our boy is very close and I am so looking forward to it.

Over the next couple of weeks I will be getting our home ready to accommodate this little person and hoping that he doesn't surprise us with an early entrance. At least not before I have all of his things in place.

Get ready world because this boy is on his way.

33 Weeks - CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!

I can not believe how far along I am. It is weird, I feel like I can't remember a time I wasn't pregnant but at the same time I feel like it has flown. I finish work in a week and a half, so looking forward to the rest. I am especially looking forward to spending as much time as I can with family and friends before baby boy arrives and we are flat out for a while.

I think this boy has dropped right into position because my stomach shrunk and dropped over night and his movements are feeling very different now. I have an OB appointment with a scan today so she will be able to let me know for sure.

Here is a quick update...

How far along? 33 weeks.
Total weight gain/loss: 8kgs.
Maternity Clothes: I have a few things but hate spending money on clothes when I am so close to the end, hence why I am often seen wearing the same thing. My dryer is on continuously due to having to wash my few clothes every couple of nights.
Stretch marks? Nope, starting to wonder if I have escaped them.
Sleep: So tired all the time but sleeping is harder then I thought. Between toilet trips, trying to get comfortable and my new habit of waking up with every noise.
Best moment this week:  Seeing all the little clothes on the line.
Miss Anything? Sleeping on my belly and getting up without a lot of moaning and groaning.
Movement: Baby boy seems to be falling into a schedule with his movements seeming to happen the most in the mid morning and between 8pm and 10pm is crazy baby time with so many movements I think he is going to jump right out.
Food cravings: Cold milk milo drinks. YUM!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope.
Labor Signs: Nothing.
Current Symptoms: Heart burn is killing my life, I can not wait to be rid of this symptom.
Belly Button in or out? In, just!
Wedding rings on or off? Off, I tried to wear them yesterday as we were going out but I could see my finger suffocating and eventually it started to really hurt so I had to take them off.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy but emotional.
Looking forward to: Finishing work :)

A Wedding, A Bump and A Countdown.

Daniel and I got to attend the most beautiful wedding over the weekend. So we got all dressed up, which is a rare occurrence these days and don't even start me on the nightmare it was to find a dress, and went to this gorgeous town for the wedding. Its such a beautiful season for small country towns. It really made me miss growing up in a place that has lots of big trees lining the streets and even having your own tree in your backyard that drops millions of leaves. I am loving autumn this year. Its my new spring.

We have reached our 30 week mark and with it we are checking so many things off our pre baby list. After the baby shower we did all our shopping for baby boy and have officially got everything we need. The nursery is so close to being finished. Daniel is custom building the wardrobe so once that is done I can unpack all of our little persons clothes etc. Then he just needs to make me one more thing (seriously he is so talented I can't help but get him to make me lots of things) and we are done! I can not wait to show you.

I am counting down to the date I finish work. 5 weeks. I am so tired and really looking forward to this time to do as little as possible. I plan to annoyingly smother Daniel with attention for the few weeks we have left on our own.

My job for this week is to pack our hospital bags. Daniel is going to be staying with us while we are in the hospital so I am going to pack one for me, one for him and one for boy. I haven't been overly looking forward to this task as it means buying the things I don't like to think about such as maternity pads, nipple pads etc. I took the plunge and purchased my first nursing bras today so I am anxiously awaiting their arrival.

Do you have any must have items for the hospital? I have put a list together based on endless google searches but I love any first hand recommendations.

Hope your week has started wonderfully!

A Shower For Our Little Man

Last weekend was my baby shower celebrating this little guy I have been growing in my belly. I had such a good time and the house looked amazing. As always, I barely got any photos and I am filled with regret.

The theme was little man, which for me was lots of blue and lots of moustaches. Everything came together so well. I owe a shout out to Pinterest for SO many good ideas. All day - all I could think of was that dreams really do come true. I can not tell you how many nights I longed for the day it would be MY baby shower. I feel so lucky.

This weekend Daniel is going to be decking out Boy's wardrobe and I am going to be putting away all of our amazing presents. I am also waiting on just a few more things and then the nursery will be complete.

Here are a few photos from the shower that I did manage to get.

The Third Trimester.

This week I entered the much anticipated third trimester. I have passed through two of the three stages and I am now officially on the home run. C R A Z Y. It is getting tough now - gone are the days of swiftly bending over when I drop something or sitting comfortably on the lounge.

This boy has been a growing machine the past few days and he is now happily talking up all the room in belly, including lodging himself under my ribs when he feels like it. My favourite thing to do is to just sit and watch every small move he makes. His rolls, his arm movements all of it. I am in awe of this boy already. He has already stolen our hearts and we will soon realise exactly what that means.

I have begun my count down until I finish up work (7 weeks !!!) and I am so looking forward to making all the final preparations and getting our house ready for the arrival.

Tupac has caught on that there is a baby in my belly and he takes his place lying across my stomach each night when I sit down and standing to guard when ever he hears an odd noise. This makes me love him even more but scares me too because I really hope they love each other.

Bake away my boy because it will soon be time for you to join us and I hope you plan to arrive on time.

Oh Boy! Sneak Peak....

My baby shower is only two weeks away. I can not believe that I am only two weeks out from my very own baby shower. After years of attending other peoples showers and putting on a few for my very special people I finally get to throw my own.

Baby Boys shower is going to be little man themed. So all about the moustache. My fingers are sore from so much cutting of these curvy little things but it is all coming together great.

I can not wait to share the day with you but until then here is a sneak peak into the day, the invitation.

Happy Friday!

Easter Weekend.

I was really counting down to Easter this year. I mean really. For the break and for the chocolate. I needed the break. My parents and sister are in America at the moment and with one of my brothers living in QLD we decided to spend Easter weekend at the holiday house with my two brothers. Mostly so they could surf and I could relax on the beach. It as total bliss. I wish it could have lasted forever. It was the first Easter weekend we have spent with my family in over four years so I loved spending it with the small portion of them that I did.

Here are some photos of our weekend. I missed almost every easter photo op though, except for my lamb!

I hope you guys had just as good an Easter. I can't wait until next year when I get to play the Easter Bunny. Yipppeeeee.

25 Weeks.

It has been a while since I did one of these so I thought I should get my butt into gear and get some photos to accompany the update. That didn't happen, obviously. When I get home in the evening the first thing I do is take my bra right off and throw it as far away from me as possible. I get the closest pair of trackies and I find the perfect spot on the lounge. This is where I stay for as long as possible. That is the truth about my pregnancy. It isn't full of gorgeous maternity clothes and being outside in beautiful places. This photo is my truth. BUT I am going to try and get some better photos so I don't have to pull these out of cyber space some day.

How far along? 25 weeks.
Total weight gain/loss: About 5kgs so far.
Maternity Clothes: Lots of maternity basics and a few dresses. I am just about to purchases my first lot of work pants because I just can not put it off any longer. I am trying to hold off on most things until the winter lines come out.
Stretch marks? I have been so lucky and don't have any so far.
Sleep: I have been struggling to fall asleep lately but once I am out I am OUT.
Best moment this week:  Painting and getting a good start on the nursery. I can't wait to show you!
Miss Anything? Still missing sushi SO much.
Movement: All day and all night. This guy is a restless sleeper. My favourite thing is to watch my belly bouncing around of an evening. I can never explain the emotions I feel when I feel/see him moving around.
Food cravings: My chilli cravings have calmed right down which means my heart burn has too, yay!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope.
Labor Signs: No but I am told I might start to experience Braxton Hicks soon....
Symptoms: Nothing new.
Belly Button in or out? Its still holding in!
Wedding rings on or off? On, although I am noticing it is getting tighter.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy.
Looking forward to: Finishing the nursery.

Birthday Bash.

A little while ago I promised you some photos of Daniel's 30th Birthday. With the craziness of life I completely forgot to put these up. So here they are, two months later.

Daniel wanted something small and intimate and at our home but also wanted it to be special and memorable. So we decided to have a chef come to our house and cook a three course meal for our small group. The food was incredible and the night was even better. It was perfect weather and everything just came together perfectly.

We were able to choose the menu to match our theme which was "Hamptons". So it was a laid back but slightly dressed up beach style.

Here are some shots of the night.

Bali Babymoon.

Daniel and I have a lot to be grateful for at the moment. Most recently we are so grateful for the opportunity to be able to go on a babymoon. There was some crash course saving going down for the months before but we made it. A holiday just the two of us to enjoy that soon to be rare "us time".

Bali is our favourite place to travel to. We try to go once a year but this year we were nervous we wouldn't make it with all the big things we were saving for. So we renamed it our babymoon to keep us motivated and a few months later we were on our way. We had the best time. It was probably my favourite visit to date. I looked at Daniel in a whole new light and somehow I managed to fall even more in love with this man I call my husband. My sister and cousin joined us for the last week of our trip which we also loved.

Here are a few (meaning 100) photos of our getaway.
